Looking for something better tasting (and better for you) than store-bought tartar sauce? My Healthy Lemon Dill Tartar Sauce is sure to fit your needs!
It’s dairy-free, gluten-free and Whole 30 approved! It also packs a zesty punch of lemon and fresh dill. The best part is that it’s SO easy to make! You don’t need a blender, immersion blender, or food processor. Just dump all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix! It doesn’t get any easier than that.
Ingredients in the Sauce:
- Mayo: You can use regular mayo here, but if you’re part of the Whole30 crew, use a Whole30 compliant brand! Primal Kitchen is a popular compliant option.
- Dried Dill: Go heavy on the dried dill here. It adds so much fresh flavor to this sauce!
- Minced Onion: Using dried, minced onion is an easy way to sneak in a lot of savory flavor. You can find it in
- Fresh Lemon Juice: Don’t skip the fresh lemon juice here! You can really taste the difference between pre-packaged and fresh lemon juice. Juice straight from the lemon is much more vibrant and zesty!
- Black Pepper: Black pepper balances out those zesty flavors and rounds it all out. Use as much or as little as you like.
I love slathering this tartar sauce overtop my Easy Baked Salmon Cakes. I can’t wait to see how you use it!
